Advanced Car Refresher Course.
A mixture of officers attended Paphos Divisional Headquarters for a week's refresher course in April.
They consisted of officers from the Driving School and Traffic Division. Three of them were experienced motorcycle riders.
The instructors Mike and Barry were assisted by Ray Bradley a former UK Police Driving Instructor who took over the lions share of the training from Barry on this occasion.
All of the officers were able to attain or retain their A Grades.
The three motorcyclists will be back in May to attend a motorcycle course.
Advanced Motorcycle Course.
A motorcycle course took place in May 2006. Officers from the Cyprus Police Driving School and a special motorcycle squad from Nicosia attended. Mike was assisted in the training by Neil Beckett a
former motorcycle trainer from the UK.
All of the officers had good motorcycle handling skills at the start. They soon adapted to The System of Motorcycle Control as taught to all of the Police Forces in the UK.
The course was enjoyable for us and beneficial to the students.
All attained the A grade.
