Advanced Motorcycle Course.
Six officers attended Paphos Divisional Headquarters for a week's motorcycle course in April.
Four of the officers were from E.O.M.O, a specialist motorcycle squad, and two from the Driving School.
The course aims were to improve the riding and instructional skills of the two driving school officers, who were here on a refresher course.
The System of Motorcycle Control was taught to the other officers incorporated these skills into their riding.
All of the officers were assessed and achieved a pass.
At the end of the course the instructors, Mike and Neil, were each presented with a gift which was appreciated.
Then the course presented me with the 1960 version of Roadcraft. They said it would remind me of my first driving course.
I don't know what they mean!

Advanced Car Refresher Course.
In September six officers returned to Paphos for a car refresher course.
The criteria for attending was that they had to have successfully completed an advanced course with us, be it car or bike.
In the end we had two who had completed a motorcycle course, three who were car drivers and one who had attended car and bike courses. If you look through the photographs you can probably work out who that was. He has attended several courses because of his language skills. All instruction is in English so there are times when a technical detail needs to put across.
At the end of the course the instructors, Mike and Gwyn, were presented with a gift which was appreciated.

Advanced Motorcycle Course.
Nine officers attended Paphos in October for a motorcycle course.
This was the first course that they had attended and came from a mixture of backgrounds. Two were based in Limassol, two were from Nicosia traffic and the rest were from E.O.M.O, the specialist motorcycle squad based at Headquarters.
On this occasion the instructors were Mike, Neil, Gwyn and also assisting on the theory day, Steve.
All participants made good progress throughout the course and passed the final assessment without any problems.
